PROJECT PROFILE ON PELLETISING OF AGIRICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL WASTE FOR USING AS FUEL
MARKET

Since biomass fuel pellets is a alternate source of energy its demand arises from shortage of conventional fuels and their escalating prices. Not only biomass fuel pellets are economical, convenient to use but being carbon neutral its use generates CER’s. Major thrust market area for fuel pellets are.

INDUSTRIAL BOILERS
Increasing cost of boiler fuel has generated demand for efficient boilers. Efficient boilers require designated fuel and fuel pellet being specified fuel in many cases.
1) TRAVELLING GRATE BOILER: 15 – 20 MT/Hr boilers having traveling grate have combustion time of 8 – 10     minutes. Maxm size to combust is around 25 mm. 20 – 25 mm biomass pellet are ideal for such boilers. Efficiency is     higher and SPM generation negligible.
2) FLUIDISED BED BOILERS: Under bed fired boiler require fuel size less than 6 mm and – 6 mm granules or 5mm     pellets are ideal for such boilers. For over fired boiler fuel size is 8 – 10 mm pellets.
RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL HEATING
Pellet fired heating system for residential and commercial area can easily replaced conventionally oil fired system with pellet fired heating system. Even direct fired system for residential area is quite common.
GASIFICATION
Direct firing of biomass is not permissible in Europe and pressurized large capacity gasifiers are being installed. In these state of art gasifiers having pressurized system, Pellet are most desired fuel and 18-20mm pellet have good application.
DOMESTIC COOKING STOVE
As compared to conventional wood burning stoves, improved pellet fired are three times more efficient. Flame temperature is high and pollution is in significant as compared to conventional stoves. Non-availability of firewood has made fuel-efficient pellet stove quite popular. Pelletised fuel is in good demand.
